Personnel / volunteer members assist the associations board in different duties: For example by making graphics, writing to our TYKKI-magazine or helping in organizing events. Differing from the board members the personnel aren’t chosen in the board meeting and they don’t have voting power in board meetings. Personnel are chosen by the board when needed.
One can apply to be personnel by emailing the board kemistit@lists.utu.fi. Whilst applying express what type of personnel you wish to be and why. The application will be handled in the next board meeting. Personnel term lasts for one calendar year meaning from january till december, however one can be appointed to become personnel mid term.

General personnel (0-6)
General personnel helps the board in different duties. General personnel is made for you if you are interested in association activies however you aren’t entirely certain what you wish to do.
Event personnel (3-11)
Event personnel are the right hands of the event managers, who are there to help organize for example sitz, catering, cleaning, acquairing supplies and/or food and with ticket sales. If you wish the be part of organizing the best parties and events this duty is made for you!
Graphics personnel (2-5)
Graphic personnel design and impelement graphics for TYK ry, such as posters and patches for different events. Graphics designers can also be part of designing various ancillary products, whatever they can come up with to sell.
Educational policy personnel (0-7 + members of the education policy and executive boards)
Educational policy personnel help the board members of educational policy managers for chemistry and biochemistry. Most important duty of educational policy manager is to make sure that the student benefits and opinions are taken into account and students are treated fairly in courses. In addition to this student policy managers organize coffee meetings, where you can discuss with the department staff about different educational policy topics, such as course feedback and examination systems.
Study circle and demonstrations personnel (0-5)
The purpose of study circles and demonstration club is to gather weekly to work on demonstrations, lab reports and other studies. The club leader doesn’t need to have the knowledge to help with assignments but to be on duty and make sure that the premises are kept clean. This position is especially suitable for those studying to become teachers!
International personnel (0-2)
As international personnel you will have the opportunity to attend international events and meetings, meet our international students, and help translate the written records of board meetings, decisions made within the board meetings and various publications into English. This duty is recommend for those fluent in Finnish and English and if you are interested in working with international students and to promote their interests.
Social media personnel (1-3)
If you are interested in social media and photographing, then a social media personnel is your place. As a social media personnel you are permitted to use the Instagram and Facebook accounts of TYK ry. Your duties will include taking photographs at various events and posting them, as well as other such tasks assigned by the government.
Tykki personnel(1-3)
As tykki personnel you will get to collect stories for the magazine, make cover illustrations, take photographs and help with mailing the magazine to sister organizations with the guidance of the editor-in-chief! So if you are interested in journalism, have a steady drawing hand, or you are interested in poetics, then apply for this position!
Craft club personnel (1-2)
Craft club personnel hold craft club every other week. They plan the program and get the supplies for it. If crafts are your passion, then go for it!
Movienights personnel (1-2)
As movienights personnel your main responsiblity is to hold movie nights: you rent a movie, reserve a space and obtain some snacks for the nights. Movie lovers, get in touch!
Boardnight personnel (1-2)
You organize boardnights and make sure there are games present for the gatherings. Easy and fun to organize!
Alumni personnel (1-2)
You organize aftework-events monthly and you also have the opportunity to come up with ideas for other alumni activities based on your own interests!
Sports personnel (1-2)
Those who enjoy all kinds of group sports should apply for this position! You will act as an assistant to the board’s culture and sports manager, recruit players for games, remind them of game times and, preferably, participate in the games yourself.
Facility personnel (0-2)
You act as an administrator for our facilities. You make sure our facilities are comfy and neat.
Excursion personnel (0-2)
In this position, you will be able to assist the excursion manager in planning and preparing trips.
Kyykkä personnel (0-5)
Are you a huge fan of kyykkä and sports? Then this duty is perfect for you! In this duty you cna organize as many kyykkä games as much as you can!
IT-personnel IT-toimihenkilöt (0-2)
In this position, you will be able to assist the IT and Data Protection Manager with various projects that may need to be done at any time.
